Patti and I both have been wearing Hate Lockets™ for some time. We began the practice of wearing Hate Lockets™ accidentally on the day we realized that we were Mortal Enemies. And, being entrepreneurs, we immediately trademarked the name and began negotiating to sell them through a major cable shopping service.
I am writing this in January 2010. A few days ago, something remarkable happened: Patti Digh, my darling Mortal Enemy, sent me a holiday gift! Patti sent me a brand new Hate Locket!
I love it! It is engraved heart shaped matte bronze-colored metal. It is suspended on a black silk organza ribbon. And, as you can imagine, it looks simply charming on me!

You, Darling, being a keen observer are on to something. You are correct that Patti and I don’t really, really hate each other. Instead, we really, really, really hate each other! And we love every minute of it!
