Song

I love my blog! Love! So I wrote it its own song!

And, I must sing it for you.

I have never been accused of having musical talent, yet, somehow I am willing to inflict my voice on others.

If you decide you would like to listen, be prepared for the fact that it sounds rather pathetic. Sure, it rhymes and all that.  But it lacks the musicality that one generally expects to hear when one listens to music.

It does, however, have one redeeming feature.  It is quite short.

By the way, I would love it if you would sing my blog its song.  Yes!  Seriously.  Perform it here, please.  Contact me and I will give you a toll free number to record it.  I am willing to do my part to make you a STAR.  Here.  On my blog.

My blogs’s first guest star is truly a star, and a good friend here, and in the real world or in the rest of the world, or whatever words we agree to use to describe a worldly off-blog location.  Naturally, I mean G. Scott Oliver, who is also known as ScottO.  Listen as I did, in amazement and amusement and anticipation of me signing Scott to my company’s record label, Drummer Hill Press.

Great tune. Catchy. Needs a saxophone, I think. And bongos. And Peggy Lee should sing it. Not that you didn’t do a fine job. I just hear her barroom voice bringing it home.

My song needs a pro! That is why I am going to insist that you sing my blog its song and that we post it here. I would rather have you than Peggy Lee any day, and that has nothing to do with the fact that she is, well, dead.

In the meantime, to hear me sing accompanied by a great band with an alto sax, go to the home page of the Social Media #Soiree. http://socialmediasoiree.com. You will be knocked out by my talent. Or not.

Oh! Charming! Now you MUST post the lyrics (how much do you expect me to hold in my little head?) so we can sing along… if you tell me how to record my version of it, I’d love to…

Trillingly yours,
~GirlPie

Here are the lyrics to New Media Martini:

New Media Martini
My favorite drink
New Media Martini
A real time sink
New Media Martini
So come along
New Media Martini
That’s the end of my song

HAW ha ha ha I am laughing at myself, because when I sang this song, I did not scroll down to see that the lyrics were published here! I wrote them down myself!

Scott, I find that shocking! You, who knows my deserved reputation for complete perfection! Naturally I would provide lyrics to highly talented guest artists like you!

Plus, as the highly talented songwriter, I want to give my lyrics the visibility that they merit.
