Musical Essence—It May Seem Like a Song, But It Is Not
My blog has a song. You know that of course, because, after all, you are here. Its song is a composition by a very talented composer. Me, actually. Unless I am confused. Or talented and confused, which is certainly possible in this day and age or any other–past or future. Or confused about my talent, which is likely and unfortunate.
My blog’s official song shares my blog’s name. It is called New Media Martini and it is performed daily, on this blog by me and my very talented and devoted friend, Scott Oliver. And you as well, if you would kindly step forward and grace us with your performance.
But enough about the song. We are on the Musical Essence page, and that is because my blog, rich in features, has an Essence. A Musical Essence: an original composition, in the blues tradition by the talented musician, James Hersch. This composition was commissioned by me due to my high level of uppity-ness and perhaps my high level of confusion.
But, knowing that or suspecting that, makes James Hersch exactly the perfect musician to supply New Media Martini with its Musical Essence. Because James became so confused by the prospect that he was unable to divine the musical essence of New Media Martini with certainty. Instead, he offered up four variations and you can play them below!
Essence One
Essence Two
Essence Three
Essence Four
